1. Compulsory use of National Identity Number (NIN)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB has made the use of the National Identity Number (NIN) compulsory in the registration process. This means interested applicants must have National Identity Number (NIN) before they can register for the tertiary entrance exam.

2. Registration Date

According to Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB the registration portal for the 2022 UTME will open from 8TH January. All interested candidates are to please take note of these dates.

3. No extension for Sales of Form

2022 UTME Prospective applicants should also know that there would not be an extension for the sales of form for the UTME Form, according to JAMB.

4. Examination Centres

JAMB has announced that 700 cbt centres have been put in place for the exercise. The approved centres, InsideSchool.com.ng learns, are available on the JAMB portal. The exam venue will be at any of the centres in the candidate’s chosen examination town.

5. Optional Mock and Exam Dates

Interested candidates who wish to write mock examinations to assist them in the coming exams are to take note of the following dates. The optional mock examination will take place from Thursday, April 8 to Saturday, May 15. The actual exam will hold from ​Saturday, June 5 to Saturday, June 19.

6. Registration Fee

The JAMB registration fee for this year is N3,500 and N500 for the recommended reading text.

7. Further Registration Requirements

JAMB said other necessary information regarding the registration will be made available on its website and advertised in the electronics and print media starting from Monday, April 5.

In another report, The examination body also raised concerns that candidates, in trying to generate their profiles, are sending their details wrongly to 55019.

Below is the right step to take, according to JAMB:

“The right process is to send the word “NIN” allow one space in between, then insert the eleven digits NIN number to 55019 e.g. NIN 00000000000. Any other process is wrong and would not generate the profile code for the candidate”

“It is also necessary for the candidate to know that only the SIM that is linked to his/her NIN can be used to send the NIN to 55019.”
